Hi, Considering a room at AKL, with a king size bed with a day bed. Is the day bed a fold down futon or a mattress with removable back pillows? I ask because my parents will be staying here and want my DD5, and DS9 to be able to sleep over together one nt.

    Hi Andrea,

Animal Kingdom Lodge is an amazing resort. From the moment you step into the towering lobby you will feel as if you were swept away to the African plains. There is a great observation deck and trail in the back of the resort and many of the rooms offer spectacular views of the animals.

The daybed option that is available is not a pull out sofa or fold down futon but rather a oversized couch or sofa style bed with pillows that can be removed. My children love sleeping on it and find it very comfortable but it is not designed to sleep two children. Two other options you could consider are rooms with two queen beds or one queen bed and a set of bunk beds, which your children might love. Be sure to speak to the reservationist about your sleeping needs and they will be able to let you know what is available for your family during your travel dates.

    Have a great time!
