From one Marcy to another, welcome aboard! I'm excited to hear that you're looking into a magical voyage with Captain Mickey! My family has been sailing with Disney for years and although we've experienced all four ships multiple times, we've had new experiences each sailing and can't wait to head out to sea with Disney again soon!
My son is the same age as yours, and I can tell you that he adored his time in the Avengers Academy in the
Oceaneer Club on the Disney Magic. His favorite activity there was "Become Iron Man", which takes place a few times each cruise. Standing in the simulator, he loved that when he moved, on the screen he appeared as Iron Man, with movements matching his own. For a superhero loving kid, partaking in the Avengers Academy multi-day experience was so cool too. Each day, the kids honed their own super hero skills and then got to show them off to Captain America toward the end of the cruise. The counselors in that club really pull out all the stops to make it a fantastic experience for the kids! My son was so thrilled to get to meet Captain America!
I'd also like to let you know that the
Disney Wonder is about to undergo a re-imagination that will include a new space in its Oceaneer Club for super hero fans too. Check out this article on the Disney Parks Blog about all of the
new fun coming to the Disney Wonder this fall. Marvel Super Hero Academy on this ship is sure to be just as exciting, if not more so, than the Avengers Academy on the Magic! I can't wait to experience it all myself, and my son is thrilled that he'll get to meet Spider Man!
Have fun as you continue planning your trip, Marcy!
