Nate from TX Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are considering coming to Disney World next week. We have a 1 year old and 2.5 year old. What is the mask policy for our kids? If they are required to wear masks, what happens if the child refuses to wear it?

I’m delighted to welcome you to planDisney, Nate! I love it when a fellow Texan stops by with a question for us!

I love that you’re thinking about bringing two little Mouseketeers with you to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Nothing beats seeing the magic of Walt Disney World Resort through your kiddos’ eyes! From the first time they wave to Mickey Mouse to their very first attraction, you’ll carry all those special moments in your hEARt forever.

Nate, Guests ages two and up must wear a face-covering on attractions and their queues, while indoors, and on all Walt Disney World Resort Transportation. So although your 1-year-old Mouseketeer would not need to wear a mask, your two-year-old will be required to. But, Hakuna Matata, it means no worries, Nate! planDisney has you covered with Our Top Face Covering Tips that may help your little ones keep their masks on. From talking to your kiddos about being superheroes and “fighting the virus” to taking snack breaks outdoors, you’ll find there are lots of little helpful tips from other parents! I actually practiced wearing masks indoors with my little ones before going on our trips. That way, they were already familiar with face masks!

This is just a reminder that both Disney Park Pass reservations and theme park tickets are currently needed to enter the theme parks. If you’re thinking about purchasing tickets, do be sure to check out the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar beforehand.

We hope to see you and your family soon, Nate!
