We’re considering booking a trip for November 2021, but a lot of resorts aren’t available, specifically Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans. Is this due to them still being closed post COVID, are they booked, or are they not booking this far out? Thanks!

    Jambo Natalie!

A very warm welcome to you! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Natalie, 2021 is going to be a fantastic yEAR to take a magical vacation! Walt Disney World Resort will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary and if I know one thing for sure, it’s that Disney does celebrations right! I adore Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and both, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. At Walt Disney World Resort, many precautions have been taken to ensure Guest and Cast Member safety, which is why the reopening of some of our favorite Disney Resort Hotels are being done in phases.

As of today, you are able to make Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations through December 2021! Although Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort is not yet set to open, I’m happy to tell you that you can book a room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village! It is a Disney Vacation Club property and the two Resort hotels share the same stunning aesthetic. I love that Kidani Village borders the savanna and many of the rooms have spectacular savanna views! If you’re staying there, I would encourage you to make dining reservations at one of my favorite spots, Sanaa! The Indian-style Bread Service is a fan favorite and my family loves to watch the animals roam as we eat!

If you’re looking to stay at a Moderate Resort, I adore Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Gran Destino Tower. It is stunning with Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American influences. I stayed at the Gran Destino Tower of the Resort hotel recently and loved the Mayan pyramid pool! The Resort is reopening this month and is available for reservations next yEAR!

To help you decide which Resort hotel is right for your magical vacation, check out the Disney Resort Hotels: Know Before You Go guide. You are always welcome to book a Resort hotel that is open at the moment and then modify your reservation if your favorites become available before your travel dates. In the worst-case scenario, a Cast Member can help you cancel your current reservation and rebook if the Resort hotels of your choice become available during your travel dates.

Natalie, as you prepare for your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, be sure to keep us in mind if you have any more questions! We’re all ears!
