Hi Carrie,
I've traveled to Walt Disney World alone many times and took the Backstage Magic Tour during one of those trips. I think tours are great way to get a bit of manageable companionship during a solo visit.
There will not be a PhotoPass photographer present as part of the tour. As with most backstage experiences, photography is actually prohibited during the behind-the-scenes portion of the event - Disney does not want your photos to negatively impact the "magic" elements for other guests.
If you have your own camera with you, I'm sure that your guide or another guest would be happy to use it to snap some shots of you during the on-stage part of the tour where photography is allowed. This happened for me during the
Behind Our Steam Trains tour where photos were allowed during one encounter with the trains. I asked another guest to take shots of me and she was more than happy to help.
The only tours I know of that do include photos are the Wild Africa Trek and Dolphins in Depth tours, both which have photos included in the package. You can also take pictures during the on-stage portion of the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot.
Enjoy your trip and please let us know if we can provide additional help with the planning.
