Ahoy, Mary!
Your sailing on the
Disney Fantasy is just days away!!! It probably doesn't seem real that you'll be casting off this weekend for an amazing seven days at sea with Mickey and the gang! I hope you are in the final stages of packing, and you can enjoy counting down the last few days!
As much I like to disconnect while aboard Disney Cruise Line, we typically purchase a
Connect@Sea package when we sail. I try not to use it much, but it is nice to have in case I want to check email or check in with social media. At this time Disney Cruise Line charges by megabytes used instead of amount of time online. Last time I cruised a couple of months ago, there were four options available for purchase: Pay As you Go for .25 cents per MB, $19.00 for 100 MB, $39.00 for 300 MB and $89.00 for 1000 MB (pricing and packages are always subject to change). There will be a helpful flyer in your stateroom with information about staying connected while at sea, and you can also stop by the Connect@Sea desk with any questions. Only one package needs to be purchased per family because multiple devices can log in at the same time. You will want to be very careful to sign out each time and to turn off your automatic updates and backups (see flyer in your stateroom for entire list). You will receive email updates, and there will be an internet meter that will open when you connect so you can keep up with your usage.
On my past Disney sailings, Disney Cruise Line has offered a Day 1 Only special for 50 MB for free if you sign up by midnight. The 50 free MB can be used throughout the cruise as long as you set it up on the first day. Check your daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator for all the details.
Bon voyage, Mary!
