Thank you for your service, Jason, and welcome to planDisney! I recently visited
Shades of Green and fell in love with its lodge decor and patriotic vibe. I think you're going to have a fantastic time.
First, let's link your resort reservation to your My Disney Experience account. Some of my panelist pals say they usually
link their Shades of Green reservation online rather than in the mobile app, so I recommend trying it on a laptop or desktop. And if you just booked your stay at this resort, it could take a day or so for it to be linkable. But let's give it a try!
Hover over the My Disney Experience tab in the upper right and select "My Plans & Tickets." Hover over the blue "Resort Hotel" icon near the top and click "Link a Reservation." Enter your confirmation number and last name to link it to your account. Call the phone number provided on the linking page if you have any issues.
As long as your theme park tickets are linked to the same account, you should be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes
7 days before arrival. I'm not sure what type of admission you have, but keep in mind that many military tickets
require theme park reservations. My tip is to make sure your park reservations match the park you're purchasing Lightning Lane passes for.
My family likes to book our first Lightning Lane attraction pretty early in the day. That way, we can select another from any level. And as soon as we scan in at a Lightning Lane entrance, one of us is designated to hop on the app to
select our next attraction. We've become very efficient at the Lightning Lane game!
During your visit, I hope you can see the
Flag Retreat ceremony at Magic Kingdom Park. This moving experience takes place in the town square around sunset and honors all branches of the military. My husband is a veteran, and our favorite place to catch the retreat is from the porch at
Tony's Town Square Restaurant. It's a family tradition.
Jason, I hope your visit is practically perfect! May the stars and stripes wave you on to a glorious visit, and please
stop by planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
