How do concierge lounges handle food allergies? Thanks

Hi Jenna, and welcome back to planDisney! We’re so happy you stopped back by with another great question. Planning for food allergies always requires a little extra care, so let’s take a look at how you can enjoy your Club Level Concierge experience safely and with confidence!

I see you’ve mentioned in the past that you are a Disney Vacation Club Member (Welcome Home!), so you may already be familiar with the procedures Disney has in place to accommodate special diets requests. I want to make sure I share those details with you just in case. Disney has a reputation for doing a wonderful job working with Guests to ensure they can safely enjoy meals that meet their special dietary needs. The steps you would take in a restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort will be the same in a Club Level Concierge Lounge.

In the lounge, be sure to ask to speak with a Special Diets-trained Cast Member or a chef regarding your food allergies. They will discuss options with you and work with you to ensure you receive foods that are safe for your needs. Most Walt Disney World Resort dining locations can provide foods safe for the most common allergens, which include eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat. Many locations can also prepare meals safe for other food allergies, including gluten, lactose, corn, citrus, nightshades, and MSG. If your allergy is for another ingredient, they may still be able to accommodate your needs, as well.

Since you're staying in a Club Level Concierge room, I also recommend that you reach out to Signature Services in advance to inform them about your special dietary needs. You can contact them at disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com or (407) 939-7777. However, if you booked your Club Level Concierge room through Disney Vacation Club, you'll need to contact Member Services to have them note your allergies on the reservation.

Also, if you have four or more allergies, contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com no sooner than 14 days in advance to request a Special Diets Request Form.

Jenna, I hope this provides some reassurance and gives you the important details you need to ensure Chef Remy is ready to prepare meals perfectly-suited for you! If you have any more questions as you plan your visit, be sure to reach out to me. I’m always here to help make your vacation planning more magical!

With faith, trust, & pixie dust,
    Casey
