Hi Devon,
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is one of my absolute favorite places to stay while visiting Walt Disney World. There is so much to do at this resort, and it is amazing to me how you are truly transported to a rustic campground while being just minutes away from the Magic Kingdom!
You are correct that this is a very large resort, and that guests often do
rent golf carts as a way to navigate around the resort. I have good news for you, Devon. There is ample golf cart parking around Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. While you cannot park a car at many of the recreation and other areas at this resort, you can park your golf cart.
The restaurants, such as the absolutely delicious
Trail's End Restaurant, are located at the Settlement. In this area, you will also find shopping, places to relax and other recreation, and the boats that can take you to Magic Kingdom. There is ample golf cart parking at this location.
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-long is an absolute must-do for my family when we are staying at this resort! It is so much fun to enjoy the campfire, sing songs, meet Chip 'n' Dale, and then take in a movie! This activity is located at the Meadow area of the resort, which is where you will also find the Meadow Swimmin' Pool and other recreation options. Again, you will find golf cart parking nearby the Meadow area.
I should note that while many guests do rent and enjoy using golf carts while at this resort, you can also choose not to rent a golf cart and instead take advantage of the internal bus system. There are buses that run inside of this resort and can get you quickly and easily to different areas such as the Settlement or the Meadow. My family tends to rely on the internal bus system for transportation while staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
I hope that this information is helpful for you, Devon! Please feel free to come back to planDisney with any further planning questions.
