We will be competing in the Varsity Cheer competition at ESPN and this coming Friday 2/9 the team will have access to extra hours until 1am. Would there be any ability for riding TRON during that time and if not, does the virtual que go away at any time?

Welcome to planDisney, Angela! It looks like there's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining for you as you prepare to arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth in just one day! I'm sure you are super excited to be heading to the National High School Cheerleading Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and hoping to make some magical memories with your squad! Let's get right to your question so you can be prepared for all the magic that awaits!

As a cheer mom myself, I was able to find some information published by Varsity about the extended extra hours on Friday night; these hours will run from 11 PM to 1 AM and will offer access to select attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. While this list is subject to change, the current attractions scheduled to be open include:

    • The Barnstormer
    • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
    • Mad Tea Party
    • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
    • Astro Orbiter
    • Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
    • Space Mountain
    • Tomorrowland Speedway
    • Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover
As you probably noticed, TRON Lightcycle/Run is not included on the published list of extended hours attractions for this event, but you may still have an opportunity to ride the attraction earlier in the day by securing a boarding group through the complimentary Virtual Queue in your My Disney Experience mobile app. You will have two opportunities to join the queue; the first one opens at 7 AM, and you can join from anywhere. The second one opens at 1 PM, but guests must be inside of Magic Kingdom Park to be eligible to join. Entering the grid is truly an exciting and thrilling experience, so I do recommend trying to secure a boarding group if you can do so!

Angela, I hope this helps you plan for a fun-filled night at Magic Kingdom, and I am sending you and your team all the pixie dust for a flawless routine that hits zero and brings home the gold! Don't hesitate to come on back if you have any other questions while you're in the parks; we are always eager to help!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
