I am coming to WDW in oct/nov. I am doing the fantasmic diner and have ADR for the hollywood and vine. My ? is about the brown durby, do you think it is worth the extra DP credit? Also is there a big dining time differance between the two?

I personally think that there is huge difference in the dining experiences at Hollywood & Vine vs. the Brown Derby. Hollywood & Vine is fine, but it's fairly standard buffet fare. You're going to get filled up, but you're not going to be pampered. On the other hand, the Brown Derby is one of Disney's superior signature dining restaurants. The food is exquisite, there is an excellent wine list, and the service is fantastic. Everyone in my family adores eating here. I'm in the process of planning my dining reservations for a trip to WDW in November. When I asked my family for their top restaurants choices, every single one of them said Brown Derby. The grapefruit cake there is one of my top desserts ever. I even asked for the recipe to take home.

All that being said, whether it's "worth it" or not is really up to you. I have had great meals at the Brown Derby, frankly better meals than I've had at Hollywood & Vine. But you might be better served using your dining credits in a different fashion. If you have small girls, then your two credits might be better spent at Cinderella's Royal Table, for example. Or you might want to spend your credits on a dinner show. The budgeting of your credits has to be part of your entire vacation plan. But if you're looking for a great meal, the Brown Derby is certainly a place you could find it.
