    Coming to WDW July 19-23 for my son's 7th birthday. Going to MK & want ADR at Chef Mickey's for dinner. Will we be able to leave MK to go to Cont. & come back in time for the parade and fireworks. What time would be best to make ADR?

    Hi, Amy!  The Contemporary Resort is actually less than a ten minute walk from the Magic Kingdom - and that's with my very slow three year old in tow!  From the exit of the Magic Kingdom, you go to the left, and there is a walkway that will take you right to the Contemporary and back, so even if you don't want to wait the very few minutes for a monorail to take you there, you'll have an alternate method of getting in and out in time for the fireworks.

    I know once my girls get there and see the characters, a Chef Mickey's meal is easily an hour long affair for my family.  To be on the safe side, I would say schedule your dinner that evening for between five and six o'clock, which will allow you to get back in time and find a spot for any night time festivities you might want to see.

    What a wonderful way to celebrate your son's birthday!  I hope it turns out to be a magical day for him!
