We're coming to WDW from Australia in October staying at All Star Sports Resort for 7 days. We have 8 & 4 year olds & park tickets each day. For character meals r we best going to one in a park or is it worth taking the time to go out to a resort?

Hi Ross! What a great question! Whether you reserve a character meal in a park or at a resort, I definitely recommend you choose a restaurant that's convenient to the park you're visiting that day. If you want to maximize your time in the park, reserving a character meal in that park definitely saves you time since you won't have to travel between a resort and the park. However, there are several character meals in the resorts that are quite close to the parks. For instance, Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary is just a quick ten-minute walk or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom, and would be a great spot for breakfast before heading to the park in the morning or a dinner break in the evening. I wouldn't recommend booking a mid or late morning breakfast at a resort that requires you to leave the park soon after you arrive because of the time it will take you to exit the park and travel to a resort, but dining at a resort character breakfast first thing at the morning or a dinner when you're ready for a break from the park in the evening wouldn't cost you much in crucial park touring time.

Wishing you a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
