We are coming to WDW April 11-16. We will be traveling with a 4 year old boy and and elderly mother who will need a wheelchair for the parks. Is there alot of walking from the resorts to the transportation to the parks?

    Susan,

Of course it varies by resort, and by room location, but as a rule yes, there is a good deal of walking within the resorts. I make a point of asking for a room near the main lobby, even if it means more noise, just to cut down on the walking. Some, like the BoardWalk Inn, are worse than others, but you really have to assume that there will be quite a bit.

You can request a room near the transportation for such a reason, and you might find the resorts ready to accommodate your needs. But plan for long walks, just in case.

If you write me back with your resort location, I can recommend some room request strategies that might diminish your walking time. Also, you might consider wheelchair rentals for your stay here. There are some good Orlando area services that will even deliver and pick up at the resorts.

And know that Disney tries to accommodate such needs as much as is possible, so don't let it bother you too much!

    Have a magical vacation!
