We are coming to Walt Disney World in July this year and would like to book the Wild Africa Trek. I wondered if you could advise on how I can book it before we arrive from the uk. Thank you for you help

Well hello there, Clare. Welcome back to planDisney.

So I have to tell you that Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is definitely one of my bucket list items. When my friends Jenna J. and Donyell R. raved about their experience and chronicled it on the Disney Parks Blog, it just fueled my passion to book it soon. I'm hoping to experience it in November. Fingers crossed! Last year, I crossed off Savor the Savanna from my list and it was truly an outstanding experience. The sights, the behind-the-scenes info, the food...it was all phenomenal! I also have my eye on the Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Yes, I have a very long Disney bucket list!

At this time, Guests from the United Kingdom are unable to book experiences from the Enchanting Extras Collection ahead of their trip, which includes Wild Africa Trek. I would recommend that once you arrive in the United States and have access to the U.S. version of the site, you immediately check for availability on the My Disney Experience mobile app. If at first, you don't see any availability, keep checking back as Guests are always changing their plans and if they cancel their reservation, those reservations will open up for other Guests to snag. And remember, Savor the Savanna and the Starlight Safari are great alternatives to this experience that you can search availability for as well!

Speaking of wild adventures, did you know that it's been 30 years (gulp!) since the release of Walt Disney Animation's classic The Lion King? And to celebrate this summer, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will have a whole new merchandise collection, a Pumbaa popcorn bucket, some tasty treats, and you'll be able to meet Rafiki and Timon at Rafiki's Planet Watch. And if you're boarding the Wildlife Express Train to this unique location in the middle of the park to meet these characters, you might as well visit the Animation Experience at Conservation Station to learn to draw some of the characters from this iconic movie. When I was there last October, I tried my best at drawing young Simba. As someone who struggles to draw even a decent stick figure, I must say that I did a marginally good job!

Clare, best wishes on your wild adventures! If you have any other questions, send them my way

    Remember who you are,
