I am coming from the UK on 21st December and trying to plan food for Christmas Day when we will be in the Magic Kingdom. I am too late for reservations! Can I leave the Magic Kingdom for dinner in Disney Springs? Or is that too hard?

Hi Alice! Thank you for visiting us here at planDisney!

It sounds like your Christmas holiday is going to be unforgettable this year! While the holly, jolly holidays are always a special time of year, there is definitely something to be said about celebrating at The Most Magical Place on Earth! With your arrival date being December 21, I wonder if you'll be attending the final night of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.  While it certainly won't be a "silent night", I know you'll really enjoy all the festivities like Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, and A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas.

Even if you're not planning on celebrating at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party you'll still certainly be able to enjoy all the dazzling decorations adorning Magic Kingdom and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort.  Don't give up on Advance Dining Reservations for Christmas Day just yet, either! Just because you aren't seeing any availability right now doesn't mean things can't change before you arrive or even on the day of your intended reservation. Oftentimes, Guests change their plans at the last minute, and reservations that were not available before open up.  Keep checking your My Disney Experience mobile app and you may find exactly what you're looking for!

If you're hoping to set your plans in stone right now, you're certainly welcome to make a dining reservation at a location in Disney Springs, a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, or another Theme Park (as long as your Theme Park Tickets include the Park Hopper Option and your reservation is after 2 p.m.).  I like to plan for approximately an hour of travel time between destinations, but with Disney's complimentary transportation you can easily get from point A to point B even on Disney's busiest days! I took a moment to check dining availability on Christmas Day and it seems you still have some lovely options to choose from like The Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney's Hollywood Studios, Enzo's Hideaway at Disney Springs and Flying Fish at Disney's BoardWalk.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas holiday!

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
