Coming from MK to DS on a MNSSHP night; want to treat my StarWars fans to the VR experience b4 an 8pm ressie@T-Rex but no idea what time to make the VR reservation! Any advice on timing that will maximize Park time but not trigger a “eek we’re late” panic?

    Hi Karen!

I completely understand wanting to pack as many pixie-dusted experiences as you can into your magical day at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire by ILMxLAB and The VOID is an out-of-this-world experience like no other, especially for Star Wars fans!  You should expect to spend at least 30 minutes there, and you should plan to arrive at least ten minutes early.  I would also suggest planning for at least an hour of travel time from Magic Kingdom Park to Disney Springs (or more if you plan to leave around the time the park closes), just to be safe.  If you have extra time at Disney Springs, there are plenty of experiences to keep everyone occupied!  Also remember, there is a bit of a walk to get from Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire by ILMxLAB and The Void to T-REX.  Although it isn't a long physical distance, I always find myself window shopping and wanting to visit all of the incredible shops along the way, so walking through Disney Springs typically takes me a bit longer than walking the same distance would elsewhere.

Because of all of this, I would suggest making your reservation between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., depending on your "eek we're late" tolerance!  If you would prefer to be early, and have no problem spending time in Disney Springs (which I highly suggest), I would make the reservation for around 6:30 p.m., which gives you a little extra buffer time in case there are unexpected holdups in your travel plans.  Because Magic Kingdom Park closes at 6 p.m. on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights, you won't be missing out on much park time either!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
