Coming in May to stay at Animal Kingdom. Will it be easy to get transportation to places outside of Disney ? We also want to see Universal and Discovery Cove.

    Hi Kathy!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the largest resorts on Disney property. Boasting authentic African decor, wonderful themeing and the opportunity to view animals from the savannah from your balcony.

While Disney offers wonderful transportation options within the WDW complex, the options for traveling outside of WDW are somewhat limited. Here are a few options:

You can always opt for a taxi, which to other attractions which will run you anywhere from 50 dollars and up.

You may want to look into a rental car for the day. Disney does have rental cars available at the Disney Car Care Center, which houses both Alamo and National car rental companies. They offer a shuttle from your resort to the CCC in order to pick up your rental car. Rates per day can run anywhere from 35 dollars and up.

There are local buses available at two of Disney's major transportation hubs: The Ticket and Transportation Center as well as near Downtown Disney. LYNX buses run periodically throughout the day, with both buses servicing major outlets as well as other attractions in the Orlando area.
You can check out the LYNX buses maps at their independent website, and look up rental car prices at both Alamo and National's websites.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
