Coming in May for first Star Wars weekend. Our son will be turning 9 while we are there. This will be our third time coming to WDW. We did the in-room birthday celebration for his 6th birthday on 1st trip for him. Any suggestions on what to do this time?

How exciting you will be attending your first Star Wars Weekends and celebrating your son's ninth birthday during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, Debra! My family of six, which includes three boys, loves attending Star Wars Weekends! I would recommend signing your son up for Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy in which he will learn to use the Force to battle the Dark Side! This show is very popular and often fills up very quickly during Star Wars Weekends so I strongly advise signing your son up right at park opening. We purchased our son the themed poster for Star Wars Weekends 2010 featuring Boba Fett and Jedi Mickey on his birthday trip.We then got both characters to sign the poster and later frame it when we got home which made for a memorable birthday souvenir. You may want to book a special birthday celebration dinner for your son. 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort provides a festive atmosphere with island theming. This all-you-care-to-eat dining location serves delicious food family-style and provides live entertainment, limbo, and coconut broom races for the children. You may want to consider planning a visit to Downtown Disney for his special day with lunch at T-REX, A Prehistoric Family Adventure followed by a few exciting hours at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park. You can also order a customized cake for your son by calling (407) 827-2253 at least 48 hours in advance. Be sure to pick up a birthday celebration button at Guest Relations located in any theme park. Your son will love receiving birthday wishes throughout his special day.Another fun idea is to visit Beaches & Cream Soda Shop located at Disney's Beach Club Resort and order the "kitchen sink." This will be the most unique birthday ice cream sundae he will ever experience.Trust me when I say, it does not disappoint! I am out of room, but please feel free to visit me again! Sending pixie-dusted wishes that your son has a "Happy Birthday" on your magical vacation!
    Happy Celebrating,
