we will be coming in late june and wanted to rent a car so we could go see the ocean(first time) if you rent a car at disney's alamo are you allowed to leave the property? Anything else we should know, two small kids and our first time to wdw.

If you rent a car from Alamo at the Disney Car Care Center, you could certainly leave Disney property to see the ocean. How exciting for your children! More of your transportation questions might be answered here.

As for planning your trip, there is so much to tell you. I would strongly suggest that you start the process by purchasing two books: the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and Birnbaum's Official Guide to Disney World. I find that I refer to these titles over and over again every time I plan a Disney Trip. They can be purchased from or most large bookstores. After you get your bearings, write back to the Moms Panel with specific questions and we'll be happy to help you out.
