Hi, we're coming from a hot tropical climate and concerned about the heating and hot water at the fort wilderness accommodation in January. Could you please give us your opinion? Is that too far from the run expo and start lines? Thanks for your help

    Hi Peter!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How exciting to hEAR you'll be traveling for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!

I reached out to a couple of my fellow Moms Panelists that have experience at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and a couple recently stayed there for a runDisney event. I think you'll find them to be very comfortable and comparable, in terms of heating and hot water, to any other property at Walt Disney World Resort, so please don't let that be a concern!

The complimentary buses that will pick you up and take you to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and the start line for the races will pick up at the Outpost Depot. To get there from your cabin, there are internal buses that will pick you up and bring you to the Outpost Depot, from there you'll transfer to the runDisney bus to take you where you need to go! Another option you have is a golf cart rental to get around the Fort Wilderness property and to the Outpost Depot. This is certainly a convenient option, but not a necessity by any means. My fellow Moms Panelists said they not only enjoyed The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness for a runDisney weekend, but even preferred them because they were less crowded and they were able to hop right on the bus!

I hope you have a wonderful vacation and race! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns before your trip.
