Hi there, Scott!
February is such a fabulous time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! The crowds tend to be a little lower than normal, and the weather is absolutely perfect. Although there may be a bit of a chill in the mornings, the pools are always heated to a perfect temperature, so you will still get all the benefits of a fabulous Florida vacation!
Scott, Walt Disney World Resort is still undergoing its phased reopening, so while most experiences are open, some remain closed or modified. You can find a list of experiences on the
“Experience Updates” section of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Really, I can tell you that almost all attractions and shows are back up and running. You will get to enjoy classic rides like Peter Pan’s Flight and Dumbo while also experiencing modern thrills at places like
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and
Toy Story Land. If you have granddaughters, you will not want to miss either
For The First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration or
Frozen Ever After. If your girls are anything like mine, they will be over the moon getting to see Elsa and the mythical land of Arendelle in person.
You will also be treated to two new shows, Disney Enchantment and Harmonious. While both of these shows are amazing, I am so looking forward to my all-time favorite show Fantasmic!, which will return sometime in 2022. So keep an EAR out for an announcement.
If you are looking for an extra special way to treat your family, may I suggest a
fireworks cruise? If your family is anything like mine, there are a ton of us. A fireworks cruise is a unique experience and since you pay by the boat (with a maximum of 10 people) it often works out to be about the same price as a character meal for our group. This is a tradition that my dad started with all the grandkids and it is something that we still look forward to on each trip.
Scott, one thing that has not returned since the parks reopened is the Disney Dining Plan. If you want to have everything paid for before you leave, I suggest you stock up on Disney Gift Cards to use on your meals. Just make sure that you go ahead and make your dining reservations 60-days out from your check-in date.
Oh and Scott, do not forget to make sure that you have both your theme park tickets and
Disney Park Pass system reservations loaded into your
My Disney Experience Account.
I hope that this gave you a bit of guidance, Scott. Do not forget that we are here to help make your vacation magical so please come back if we can answer any other questions for you!
Enjoy your family adventure!
