Hi Amy!
How exciting that you are visiting Walt Disney World in February! I love visiting in February because the weather is mild, the crowds are low, and the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is going on!
I'm especially thrilled for your little prince visiting Walt Disney World for the first time! Make sure to get him a special pair of Mickey Mouse ears personalized with his name. I have a pair from my son's first visit and I will treasure them forever.
You will be happy to hear that children under the age of three do not need to pay for park admission or table service meals. If you dine at a table service restaurant that offers a buffet, such as Chef Mickey's,
Crystal Palace, or
Biergarten, your son can have as much as he cares to eat from the buffet for no charge. Your son can also enjoy a complimentary meal at the family-style all-you-care-to-eat locations, such as Cinderella's Royal Table, Garden Grill, and '
Ohana, because the food is brought to the table and he can enjoy as much of it as he wants.
When my kids were little, I definitely preferred to dine at the all-you-care-to-eat locations for several reasons, including the great food selection and saving money! Another money-saving tip is to book your advanced dining reservation for mid-day, such as 2:00 or 3:00 PM. I used to tell my kids it was "linner" (lunch and dinner) and I saved money on dining out for several meals.
If you dine at a quick service location, you can either share your plate or you will need to pay for a meal for your little one. The portions are usually pretty large, so I was able to share meals with my kids without anyone going hungry. Pecos Bills and
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café are two quick service locations with huge portions.
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
