We're coming Feb '13 and will be booking (requesting) adjoining Royal Rooms at PO, which room type and building should we reguest. Being close to the main building, bus stop and other resort amentities is importat. Do the rooms have balconies? Thanks!!

Hi, Alicia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Congratulations on booking Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside! This is hands-down my family's favorite Moderate Resort and we absolutely love the Royal Guest Rooms - they are especially beautiful and imaginative.

The Royal Guest Rooms are located in the Oak Manor (Building 90) and Parterre Place (Building 95) Southern plantation-style mansion homes in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort. The mansion buildings have either 2 or 3 stories. The rooms do not have private balconies or patios - the room doors open directly onto an exterior public walkway.

To be nearest to the main building, you'll want to request Oak ManorYou just walk cross the Sassagoula River bridge to get to the Resort Center which houses the Front Desk registration area, Riverside Mill Food Court, Fulton's General Store (merchandise shop), River Roost Lounge and Boatwright's Dining Hall table-service restaurant. Staying in Oak Manor, you will be closest to the East Depot bus stop, which is not more than a 5-minute walk from your room.

The independent website Allears.net has a great detailed map of the resort (on its Port Orleans Resort - Riverside page) where you'll be able to view the location of the Oak Manor building in relation to the main building, bus stop and pools.

Wishing you a magical stay in a Royal Guest Room, Alicia! Enjoy searching for all the "hidden Mickeys'' in the room's decor. (Hint: look closely at the decorative lamp above the table and the wallpaper.)
