We'll be coming over Easter with 2 boys- 9 & 4- & making lots of dining reservations. Am looking at restaurants at Animal King lodge and wondering which place & time would be best for all of us (DH is a foodie) & would have best animal view

    Hi Kimberly,

There are three table service restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boma and Jiko at the main Lodge, and Sanaa at Kidani Village.

Of these three, Sanaa is the only one where you could actually see animals while you're dining. There is a large picture window overlooking the savanna. I personally find the animal viewing much easier here while it is still light out. If you'd like to dine at Sanaa, you should check the sunset times during the dates of your travel and book your meal accordingly.

Both Boma and Jiko have wonderful food. Boma is a buffet, so you could sample a bit of everything, while Jiko is one of WDW's gourmet signature restaurants. If your hubby is a foodie, then Jiko would be a WONDERFUL place to dine.

While you can't see animals directly from either Boma or Jiko, you would be welcome to walk around the hotel grounds before or after your meal for some animal viewing. Again, I find animal sighting easier before dark, but if you wait until after dark, you may be able to borrow night vision goggles to see the animals at night. One note of caution, it may be difficult for your younger son to see through the goggles unless he is practiced using something like binoculars at home. You might want to factor this into your planning.
