How exciting that you will be visiting Walt Disney World with your grandchildren, Janet!  What magical memories you will create as a family in the "Happiest Place on Earth!"  I got a firsthand look at Disney Art of Animation Resort in April and loved the storybook setting and the attention to detail at every turn!  Due to construction, we were unable to go in The Little Mermaid wing of the Resort.  Based on what I could see from the front entrance, I would estimate the walk to The Big Blue Pool from The Little Mermaid wing to take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on how briskly you walk. There will also be a smaller pool located in The Little Mermaid courtyard called the Flippin' Fins Pool. Make sure to visit Magic Kingdom Park during your vacation. My family always takes advantage of Morning Extra Magic Hours, a perk for guests staying on Disney property, and find that we are able to experience many of our favorite attractions when the parks are less crowded. I hope this information helps!  Please let me know if you have any additional questions that I can assist you with.  Sending pixie dust in hopes that your grandchildren experience a Magical First Walt Disney World Vacation, Janet!
    Happy Planning,
