We are coming to DW in March 2017. Should I go ahead and purchase the memory maker plan in advance or is this too far in advance? Once I purchase the plan, can I hold off on activating the plan until we are close to being there?

Hi, Sandra! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for bringing this great question to us. Memory Maker is such a great addition to any Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You can actually purchase it at any time before you head to the Resort. This could really help you budget for your trip, purchasing pieces of your vacation as you go, building up to one magical vacation.

There is currently a great offer for Memory Maker advance purchases. As long as you purchase Memory Maker three days before you take your first pixie-dusted picture, it will include all Disney PhotoPass pictures taken. Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar to take advantage of the advance purchase price. You would not want to be late for that very important date with a Disney PhotoPass photographer in front of Cinderella Castle on the first day of your vacation! If the date does slip up on you, you can still purchase Memory Maker at the full price, which will include photos taken immediately afterward.

Memory Maker will not be considered "active" until you download a Disney PhotoPass photo. Each photo that you take will remain in your account for 45 days before it expires. You can begin downloading your pictures anytime within those 45 days, and your Memory Maker entitlement will then activate when that first download occurs. From the point of your first download, you have 30 days to complete edits and download all of the pictures that you wish to keep before the Memory Maker entitlement expires.

I hope this information makes the picture more clear for you, Sandra. Please let us know if you have any other questions for us as you continue to plan your trip. Have a magical day!
