    Coming down with a 2 & 5 yr. old...Would love to dine at Sci-Fi but am worried about the scare factor of the movies shown. Also, does anyone know their hours? Thanks so much!

    Hi Dawn,

    Sci-Fi restaraunt is one of our must do locatiosn every trip. The restaraunt usually begins seating around 11 or 11:30 amd and typically goes until close to park closing time. You did not mention the dates you are looking at so the best thing to do to check available dining times is to call 407-WDW-DINE or 407-939-3463. They will be able to tell you the range of time that the restaraunt is open and taking reservatiosn for your specific date.

    I think you can rest easy when it comes to the "scary" factor in these movies. Yes there is a continous running tape of science fiction clips that are showing, however these clips are actually quite silly and not scary at all. The best phrase that comes to mind to explain them is cheesy. There is also a mixture of cartoons and animated commercials for your drive-in concession stand. My boys have been dining here since they were infants and have never been frightened by the clips. The cool convertible car tables and dark lighting adds a fun element to this location and my boys actually laugh at the clips more than anything.
     
    You could always make a reservation for this location and prior to being seated just ask if you can peek in the room for a glimpse of some of the clips. You know your children best and this way you can decide before you actually have a seat. If you decide it would not work for your family, just let the car hop know and they will be able to cancel your reservation with no "tickets given".
