We are coming down for Thanksgiving dinner this year, about 20 of us and was wondering where was the best place to eat thanksgiving dinner was, and when can we book it?

    Hi Lisa!

What a fun way to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with extended family! By spending Thanksgiving at the Walt Disney World Resort you can focus on spending quality fun time with your family, and no one will have to cook or wash the dishes!

If you are staying on property at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can make Advance Dining Reservations for up to ten days of your vacation, 180 days in advance of your resort check-in date. If you will be staying off-property, you make make your Advance Dining Reservations 180 days in advance, but you will need to call to make them one day at a time. Since Thanksgiving is a popular time at the Walt Disney World Resort, I would recommend making your dining reservations as early as possible, if  you can I would call at 7 a.m. exactly 180 days in advance. Because your party is large, you will need to be prepared that they will split you up into smaller tables, but they will try to seat you near each other. Try booking the first seating of the night for better chances of adjoining tables.

Many restaurants at Walt Disney World offer special holiday meals. You can get an idea by looking at what was available for 2014.  My first choice would be Liberty Tree Tavern, where a Thanksgiving style meal is served nightly. The colonial atmosphere and location in Liberty Square is sure to stir patriotic hearts. If you would like to dine outside of the parks, I would recommend the Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Inspired by the rustic lodges of our National Parks, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge also has a distinctly American feel.

I hope this helps you choose the perfect place for your family to celebrate this special day, and let me know what other questions I can help you with as you plan your holiday trip!
