Coming to Disney World in December (staying offsite) and wondering what things I can do on days not entering the parks. Use to be music @ Grand Floridian; art classes @ Animation; tasting @ Animal King Lodge Any suggestions?

Hi Maryann! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

Walt Disney World Resort is certainly famous for its classic attractions like "it's a small world" and Space Mountain,  its incredibly immersive Theme Parks and its satisfying snack choices like Mickey Premium Bars, DOLE Whips and churros! However, I think many Guests, (like you!) also really enjoy spending some "down" time at their Disney Resorts Collection hotel, taking in the beautiful architecture, practically perfect pools and fun, extra activities.

While my family has always been "go, go, go" while visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth, we're excited to try something different on our next trip. We're building in a few "Resort days" to rest, relax and recharge between the days when we hit the Parks from "rope drop" to nighttime spectacular.

No matter which Resort you plan to stay in, once you're on Disney property you and your party can simply use Disney's complimentary transportation options to visit another Resort that may have an offering you're looking for.  To see each and every one of the magical experiences available to Guests right now, head to the Walt Disney World Resort website's Enchanting Extras Collection. Some current offerings include the Colors of Coronado Painting Experience at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Horseback Riding at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and Sangria University, also at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort!

You also have almost endless options when you spend your day visiting the shopping, dining and entertainment district of Disney Springs.  Parking and entry to this area are complimentary, and you never know what impromptu music or performances you might bump into! If you're ready a magical evening you may also look into getting tickets for Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney.  I've been fortunate enough to experience this jaw-dropping show twice already and I'm counting down the days until I can see it again.

I hope you find exactly what you're looking for to help make your restful Resort days even better!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
