Hi, We are coming to Disney World from Dec. 14th to December 21st. Is this a busy time to go and what day do you suggest to go to Magic Kingdom? Is it busier when there are "Extra Magic Hours" offered?

    Ashlee,

So the dates that you are coming are kind of like the last calm before the holiday storm. By your last day the crowds will start to appear a bit more busy, with the start of holiday travelers arriving. But during most of your stay you will enjoy moderate to light crowds.

Anytime that a park has Extra Magic Hours the crowds will increase slightly. My rule of thumb is that if Walt Disney World is very busy, you should avoid Extra Magic Hours parks (especially morning ones) to avoid the worst of the crowds. But when they are experiencing a lighter season, it is certainly fine to enjoy some of these extra hours.

For your trip, I would try out a few of the Extra Magic Hours early in the week. But I would avoid them the last two days of your trip, just to keep from experiencing too much of the uptick in attendance.

I hope that this helps. Feel free to send me any follow-up questions.

    Have a magical vacation!
