Hi, Melissa!
Disney PhotoPass Service was launched with 35 photographers in 2004, and it was marketed as a way for Guests to focus on the fun while Disney captured magical memories for you. Now, hundreds of photographers are stationed around the Walt Disney World Parks on any given day, ready to take your family photos in some iconic locations such as in front of Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Tree of Life, and
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. However, if you know where to look, you'll find some unique PhotoPass opportunities that should be on your must-do list while visiting Walt Disney World Resort!
If you happen to be in Magic Kingdom Park after dusk, look for the PhotoPass photographer near Rapunzel Tower where they have a beautiful lantern photo inspired by the movie, "Tangled." If you're a fan of the glowing props, you may find more at Epcot's World Showcase. In the China Pavilion, you can take a photo with a beautiful lotus blossom lantern, and in the Morocco Pavilion, there is a photographer periodically stationed with a Moroccan-inspired lantern.
There's also a way to add a little extra pixie dust in your picture.
Magic Shots magically add Disney Characters and surprises to your photos after they're taken. I suggest following the Disney PhotoPass Service Facebook page, where they have albums with examples of all the current Magic Shots available in the Parks. There are
four brand new Magic Shots in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the animated film, "The Lion King."
There's been a lot of buzz about the
newest "super-zoom" photo opp in front of Cinderella Castle. During the day, look for this spot in the East Plaza Garden at Magic Kingdom Park. Check out the Disney Parks Blog for details on this one-of-a-kind offering!
Melissa, don't forget to purchase
Memory Maker before your trip for unlimited downloads. And when you're in the Parks this summer, make sure to have your eye out and your smile ready!
