Hey, Carol! I am so sorry you are having difficulty with your leg. I think you have made a great choice to stay at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, considering the issues you are having. This was the Resort hotel I chose for my parents when they visited last December, as my mom was also having trouble with her leg. I wanted to make sure she did not have too far to walk to the bus each morning and evening, so the compact size of this resort made it the most practically perfect choice.
You will soon be able to complete online Check-In for your stay - September 4, to be exact. When you complete Check-in, you will not be able to select a specific building, but you will notice a selection for
Near Transportation. While this is merely a request, it will give the room assignor a little heads-up on the room you would like. You may also
call the reservations line and ask the Cast Member to please include a note on your reservation that you are having difficulty with your leg and would like a room close to the main building, preferably in building four or three. Carol, if you do not get placed in either of these buildings, do not worry. This resort's overall size is very small. When my daughter and I stayed there a few years ago, we were in a room that was as far away from the main building as you could get. It really only took us about five minutes to reach the bus stop each morning. Still, you are more than welcome to talk with a Cast Member upon your arrival if you would like to possibly change rooms. They will be able to check and see if there may be one more accessible for you.
Carol, please stop by again if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip. Sending you lots of pixie dust for a wonderful vacation!
