Coming to Disney in June '13. We have some kids that can't have gluten intolerance and another son with a dairy/nut/egg allergy. Wondering which hotels(that have in room kitchens) are accesible from the monorail so we can zoom back to our room to eat?

    Hi Jenny,

Currently, there is only one hotel with in-room kitchens that has monorail access - the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary resort. This hotel includes studio villa rooms with kitchenettes (microwave, mini refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker) and one, two, and three bedroom villa units with full-size kitchens.

The Disney Vacation Club is currently building similar units at the Grand Floridian. However, there is no word yet on a completion date, so I can't promise that this will be available in June of next year.

You may also want to consider four other options. There are villa rooms with kitchens at the Wilderness Lodge, which is a fairly quick boat ride to the Magic Kingdom. Also a boat ride away from the MK are the Fort Wilderness cabins. These have full kitchens and loads of outdoor space.

In the Epcot resorts area, the Beach Club and Boardwalk have villas will full kitchens. These hotels have super quick access to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Depending on the ages of your children and which parks you'll be visiting, these choices may make even more sense than the Magic Kingdom area hotels.

Please also think about dining in the parks. Obviously you first concern is your children's safety, but Disney does do a wonderful job of accommodating guests with allergies and other food concerns. We'd love to give you more information, please write back.
