Bright Suns Jonathan!
Let me offer my heartfelt congratulations on your upcoming marriage. She must be a wonderful choice for a bride as she has agreed to venture to the
edge of the galaxy for her honeymoon! The
Droid Depot will soon open at Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. I am also hoping to visit, as a droid unit would be helpful around the house. I never seem to be able to keep up with everything, and could use some assistance!
In my experience, most anything can be shipped back to your home planet. Last April we participated in the
Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, and to commemorate my son’s first
runDisney half marathon, my husband purchased an exceedingly large sign from the race weekend. Thanks to some magic, or perhaps a Jedi mind trick, he was able to have this sign sent to our home.
Once you have built your droid, you may carry it with you, and your droid will interact with elements of the outpost. I would not want to ship my droid at this point and miss out on that part of the experience. Droids may not be driven through the area however, as they may trip up an unsuspecting visitor or be crushed by the First Order Guards. Your droid will come with their own box, or you may purchase a special traveling backpack.
Due to the electronics in the droid, I think I would feel most comfortable transporting my droid back to my home planet by carrying it with me on my transport. While the First Order does not currently staff the transport station known as Orlando International Airport, the security there should recognize both droids and lightsabers since they will be frequently carried onto transports. There is an official TSA policy noting that lightsabers are safe to carry onboard! Should the First Order sent notice they are looking for rebel droids, I recommend you reassure them that yours is not the droid they are looking for.
I hope this helps your planning. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and a good journey to the planet Batuu.
May the Spires Keep You,
Kate
