    We are coming to Disney for the first time with four grandkids ages 5 - 12. We thought out the candlelight processional. Is there a cost for the candlelight thing seperate, can you use your dining plan? Is it worth it?

    I love so much about Walt Disney World at Christmas time, but far and away, the Candlelight Processional is my favorite holiday offering anywhere.  I prepare for it each year by popping the CD in my car in mid-November, and my poor husband has to pry it out of my hands in mid-January to avoid having me wear the disc out!

    The show itself is free with your theme park admission.  Once you are in EPCOT, anyone can go see the show.  However, there are dinner packages available, and for the cost of the package - which would be two credits on your dining plan - you get the show, a reserved viewing section for Illuminations, and a dinner at one of the wonderful restaurants at EPCOT.  Where the show is concerned, having the dinner package allows you priority admission over those people who have not purchased the package.  On a busy night, the standby line can start forming an hour before the show!  The people who have purchased the dinner package are seated first, so much of the theater can be filled with dinner package guests.

    My only caution would be with the younger of your grandchildren.  The show is a retelling of the story of the Nativity, and the choir sings in between the narrated story.  My oldest daughter had a hard time sitting through until she was about six or seven, and my youngest at age four will probably fall asleep.  One year, we sat outside the theater and listened, which kept us from disturbing anyone else with antsy kids.  You know the kids better than anyone, so consider how well suited they are to sitting through the show.
