Hello. I am coming to disney the end of March with my 5 year old son. I want to take him to a character dinner. I am looking at Mickey's backyard barbeque, Hoop-te-do review or Chef Mickeys. Any recomendations?

Well, Elizabeth, you've listed some great options!  If you want to meet the characters, however, my kids prefer the interaction of the gang at Chef Mickey's.

The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue does not feature any Walt Disney characters - it's more of a slapstick, vaudeville type show with dancing, singing and joke telling.  While your son will see some of his favorite characters at Mickey's Backyard BBQ, the characters do not come table to table.

With Chef Mickey's, the characters not only come to your table, but they also do a bit of a song and dance that the kids can participate in.  I like that there are adult options on the buffet, so the food has more of a variety than at either the Hoop-Dee-Doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  We've always had a great time and a great meal at Chef Mickey's.
