Hi Katey,
You're planning your visit during
the most wonderful time of the year! The entire Resort will be decked out in gorgeous Christmas decorations, festive music will be playing everywhere you go, and the joy of Christmas will be in the air! I'm super excited for you!
On evenings when Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is taking place,
Magic Kingdom park will close to day Guests at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time. The only fireworks for the day will be the
brand new Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks that light up the night sky during the party, and while they'll be visible from nearby Disney Resort hotels, you'll need a party ticket to get the full effect and view them from inside the park.
If you're thinking about buying a ticket for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I would highly recommend it. It's my favorite special event of the entire year, and with low wait times for your favorite attractions, complimentary snacks and treats, special Christmas-themed shows and events, snow on Main Street U.S.A., the holiday fireworks, and my
very favorite part of the evening, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, you will LOVE it!
In past years, they've allowed Guests with only Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets to enter Magic Kingdom Park at 4:00 p.m. even though the festivities don't kick off until 7:00 p.m. Early entry is subject to change and at Cast Member discretion, of course, but you
could save your theme park ticket for another day and just purchase a party ticket for that day, sleep in a bit, enjoy your
Disney Resort hotel pool and activities, then head to the park in the afternoon for an evening of holiday magic.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katey, for help with planning your upcoming trip, and please come see us again if we can help with anything else. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation this December!
Missy
