Coming in Dec w/ DD (4,8,9). Have res at both Chef Mickey (dinner) and Tusker House (bfast). If we were only going to do one character meal, which would you suggest? Definitely want to see Mickey! Also, suggestions for first night at WDW? thx!

    Hi Kris!

WOW! That's a tough decision to make!! Both dining locations are great choices -full of fun and characters!!

If you're only going to be able to attend one, then I have to give a slight nod to Chef Mickey's. Our family loves the character interaction here. Seeing Mickey and friends is their chef outfits still brings a smile to my face!

The food at Chef Mickey's dinner is quite good as well, but the best part of dinner might just be the incredible dessert buffet bar! Its stocked with just about everything you can think of to make your own sundae PLUS some incredible baked goods as well!!

As for first night activities, if you have park tickets, I'd suggest heading to either the Magic Kingdom or to Epcot to catch an evening's fireworks. Watching either Wishes or Illuminations is a incredible kick-off to a vacation! If going to a park isn't an option, then I'd suggest a visit to Downtown Disney. The shopping and dining area is a fun place to spend a few hours soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying an excellent meal. Perhaps a ride on a Hot Air Balloon (if your kids are adventurous, like mine!) over Downtown Disney will be just thing to set the mood for your days at Disney! And, of course, an ice cream sundae at Ghiradelli's is always a sweet ending to an evening!

Hope you have a great time!!
