If I am coming with a child, does she HAVE to order off of the children's menu? Has Disney changed their policy that there is no designation b/w adult and child meals. Therefore, a child can order an adult meal at a counter service? Is this true or

    Eric,

The wonderful thing about Walt Disney World (WDW) is that they ensure that everyone has something that they can enjoy eating, from the pickiest of palates to the most restricted diet.

At Table Service dining experiences children are encouraged to order off of the children's menu, but if there is something that your child does not want, speak to the waiter or the chef to ask if there are alternate options. The chef may be able to make a child-sized portion of a different meal if your child doesn't like any of the options on the children's menu. You will be pleasantly surprised thought. At WDW, the children menus aren't all full of chicken fingers and french fries, the meals are quite varied. At Quick Service Dining locations, the flexibility is a bit more difficult, but still possible. If you are paying for your meals at a Quick Service Dining location, of course your child can order an adult or child meal. If you are using a Disney Dining Plan (DDP) you will have adult and child meal credits. Your child can order an adult meal using an adult meal credit. When we went on our last vacation, I often ordered off of the children's menu because the portions were smaller and my daughter ordered off the adult menu because they had food she enjoyed. It worked out for both of us because we used the same number of credits on our DDP.

    Magically,
