Coming back 8/26 till 9/4 with hubby, and dd's 6 and 9, Poly. Worried about heat/rain, but had no other choice of timing. Is it true the pools will be packed between 1-4pm (our planned break-time)? Are waterparks too crowded/hot to deal with?

    Hi Jeanine,

I love being at the parks from late August until Labor Day! It is one of the best times to go because most of the schools in the US are back in session so it is less crowded.

While the heat is an issue, Florida and the Walt Disney World Resorts are prepared for it. Air conditioning is a wonderful invention and it will feel good. I always found that by the end of the summer I am used to the heat so Florida is not so hot. There will be rain but it is usually short. Pack an umbrella or ponchos to keep you dry while touring.

As for the pools at the 1-4 hours, they could be filled but I am usually in the parks touring. Many resorts have more than one pool. This allows guests to find a cool spot in more than one location. The water parks are fine. I would recommend getting there by 10 to get a spot you want such as at the wave pool or in the shade but I really have not had an issue.

I hope you have a magical vacation in the Walt Disney World Resorts!
