We are coming back to Disney for the 3rd time and were wondering how is the crowd level typically Aug.17-through 23rd? That is the week before our schools here start, just wanted to kinda of plan ahead and see what to look forward too besides the heat!

    Hi Jay,

While the weather will obviously be quite hot during mid-August, from a crowd perspective that's a great time to go. Schools in some parts of the country will already be back in session, so there are fewer families willing to travel at that point.

I've taken a look at the Crowd Calendar for you on the independent website TouringPlans.com. They're the best source of predictions about Disney crowd levels. During your intended travel dates, they're anticipating crowd levels of 3 or 4 (on a scale of 1-10) for your entire trip. That's pretty good. You'll see other people in the parks, but you won't be bumping shoulders and wait times should be low to moderate.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
