We are coming in August & are going to be staying at the AKL. What would you suggest for breakfast? We are going to use our table service/quick serve for lunch & dinner. Is the Mara a good place that is cheap & quick for breakfast?

Hi, Christy!  Mara has a nice breakfast selection, and I have no problem recommending eating there for your breakfast at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  You'll find familiar breakfast fare - breakfast sandwich and wrap; waffles (shaped like Mickey!); oatmeal; or breakfast platters.  The smaller of the platters will run you around $6.50, and is a pretty good sized breakfast - eggs, potatoes, bacon, and a biscuit.

You will also find muffins, bagels, pastries, and other breakfast staples in the $2.50 to $3.50 range.  Plus plenty of coffee, juice, milk, and smoothies.  You can even get a cappuccino!

Other spots you might want to try for a quick breakfast Captain Cook's Snack Company at the Polynesian or Good's to Go at Old Key West.  You will find much of the same breakfast fare at those locations that you find at Mara.

There are also places inside each theme park to grab a quick bite.  You can hit Starring Roles at Disney's Hollywood Studios for muffins, pastries, croissants (including a delicious chocolate croissant!); Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery at Animal Kingdom has many of the same offerings; and even the Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom.

    Have a great vacation!
