Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Barbara!
You’ll be happy to hEAR that you’ll be able to enjoy many attractions throughout
Walt Disney World Resort as a party of three in a single ride vehicle or row. On attractions with only two seats in a row, though, both the 7 and 9-year-old may ride independently or together. Although children must be accompanied in the Theme Parks by someone over the age of 14, those who are at least 7 are allowed to ride alone.
My husband, daughter and I run into this “party of three” dilemma occasionally, and we have to decide who will sit with whom on attractions like
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at
Magic Kingdom Park,
Slinky Dog Dash at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios,
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and
Spaceship Earth at
Epcot. You can rotate with your kids on those attractions--enjoying some next to the 7-year-old or allowing them to ride together while you’re in the vehicle immediately in front of or behind them. Should one of them choose to ride in a row alone, just let the Cast Member know whether or not you’re OK with them sitting next to a stranger. Our 10-year-old is gregarious and typically doesn’t mind striking up a conversation with another single rider. We always have her in our sight when she sits with a stranger, though, so we don’t feel uncomfortable about her doing so. This, of course, is your call as a parent, though.
You’ll find lots of attractions that will accommodate all of you together, but hopefully these tips will help for those where you’ll need to split up.
Please don’t hesitate to come back with more questions, Barbara! We hope to see you real soon.
