Hi there, Sue! It's always wonderful to see a fellow Pennsylvanian here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
There's nothing better than sharing a special meal with the ones you love, and I'm glad you'll be able to meet up with your family. Try checking the Walt Disney World website or your
My Disney Experience app to see if there's a dining reservation at
The Hollywood Brown Derby that would accommodate your entire party- if you can find one, don't forget to
cancel your original reservations. If not, I suggest getting to the restaurant a few minutes early and explaining your desire to sit together. More than likely, since you have an early dinner scheduled, this shouldn't be a problem. They are often able to seat large groups by pushing a few tables together, although you might be asked to incur a short wait. I love sitting at the comfortable red leather booths, and you could also ask to be seated next to each other if this option appeals to you.
I hope you and your family are ready to be immersed in the Golden Age of Hollywood! The Imagineers spared no details when they created this replica of the 1928 Brown Derby located on Vine Street. Just like the original restaurant, the walls here are covered with caricatures; most of these caricatures are copies, but look for the ones in the gold frames which indicate that they are originals. If you are a fan of the Famous Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit Cake like I am, then make sure to ask your server for the recipe cards. When I'm hankering for a Disney fix, I like to try and recreate my favorite dishes at home!
Best wishes for a magical trip, Sue! If there's anything else we can do, don't hesitate to ask.
