Is it too cold to do the water park in the middle of January. What is the average temp in Jan. If it is cold do they close the water parks.

Hi, Carrie!  I just returned from Walt Disney World this afternoon, and on one of our days, with a morning temperature of 36 degrees, they did close Blizzard Beach because of the weather. So yes, they will close the water parks if it is too cold.

Mid-January can be chilly.  You'll usually find overnight temperatures dipping into the 40s,and day time highs that don't get far into the 60s.  I've been down there in January and had the weather much warmer, but on average, you can expect daily temperatures in the low to mid 60s.

You will usually only find one of the two water parks open in the cooler months.  They often alternate closing for refurbishment during the winter, so from October to March, you will usually find one park closed for three months, then the other.

The pools are heated, so that helps!  I'd probably bring my bathing suit and hope for a warm afternoon!
