ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex runDisney Expo has been such a nice bonus. It definitely adds a little extra magic to an already special race weekend.
So, Stephanie, let’s lace up those sneakers and run right into your question! You are absolutely correct,
Club runDisney membership opens to the general public on May 12th. If you’re able to secure a Gold membership for 2027, your benefits will officially begin on January 1, 2027, and run through December 31, 2027.
So, what does that mean for your race calendar? It’s actually a pretty great setup! During your 2027 membership year, you’ll have early access to the runDisney Merchandise Shop and a guaranteed opportunity to purchase one race registration per race weekend through early registration. This is in addition to other perks such as the member welcome kit!
Now here’s where it can feel a little like pacing for a marathon. Some race weekends tied to your 2027 membership may actually take place in early 2028 (like
Marathon Weekend and
Princess Weekend). That’s because registration happens during your 2027 membership year, even though the race itself is a few miles down the road calendar-wise. That said, not all races fall into that category. For example,
Wine & Dine Weekend typically takes place within the same calendar year, so that you may register and race all within 2027.
Another perk I absolutely love? As a Club runDisney member, you’ll get early access to renew your membership before it opens to the general public. This gives you a head start to lock in your spot, or try to level up and try for Platinum if you’re feeling extra speedy.
One tip from a fellow runner: be ready right at 10:00 AM ET on registration day. These memberships can go faster than a sprint to the finish line, so having everything queued up ahead of time is key!
