My closest park is WDW but 1st time visiting Disneyland. I am visiting Disneyland Resort/Pixar Pier/California Adv during D23 in September. What character/dining experiences would you recommend for dinner?

Hello Princess Ariel, and thank you for your question.

As much as I love Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort is my home away from home and will always be my favorite Disney Parks location. I'm so excited to hear that you will be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth in just a couple of months, and I have some character experiences and dining options to recommend.

For character experiences, there are many traditional opportunities to interact with characters, such as visiting multiple princesses in the Royal Hall. However, I would love to highlight for you some more unique character experiences. For example, I highly recommend the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! in Disney California Adventure Park. Star-Lord and Gamora get the party started with some awesome throwback tunes, so start practicing your dance moves now. Additionally, if you are a big fan of A Goofy Movie like I am, you can catch Goofy and his son Max performing the Perfect Cast by Paradise Pier. And last but certainly not least, I recommend Avengers Assemble! and The Amazing Spider-Man at Avengers Campus -- both are fun shows that usually end with meet and greet opportunities.

For dining, I have several restaurants to recommend for every budget. On the lower end, the Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus has some crazy dishes like the PB3 Superb Sandwich that are genuinely out of this world. For a mid-level dinner, my go-to is Cafe Orleans in Disneyland Park (I recommend ordering one of the Monte Cristo Sandwiches), but I also recommend Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes in the Downtown Disney District. And for a more high-end choice, I am a big fan of the Napa Rose inside Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa -- the food is five stars, and the wine is delicious. This place is very romantic and charming.

And if you want the best of both worlds -- meaning character dining -- Storytellers Cafe has a character dining experience for dinner that is super fun. I recently ate here with my family and loved both the food and all the characters we got to hang out with, such as Pluto.

Thank you again for bringing your question to the panel. And before I let you go, I wanted to let you know that at the D23 Expo in Anaheim this September, Chairman Josh D'Amaro will be presenting on Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products during Day Three, and I think it will be a must-see.

    Have a magical vacation!

    Best wishes,
    Lola
