Hello, Kayla from Indiana!
It is important to know that even with resorts that are close to the parks, the distances can be daunting. But when you make the travel from resort to park easier, your day starts off better. Let me give you the best resort options, by park.
Magic Kingdom Park: All three of the monorail resort hotels are going to be your best bet, since you are easy on-easy off. Those resorts are
Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Thanks to the
Disney Skyliner, there are a number of resorts with a quick ride that get you on to the park with an easier path to cover. Those include
Disney's Beach Club Resort,
Disney's Yacht Club Resort,
Disney's Art of Animation Resort,
Disney's Pop Century Resort,
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Disney's Riviera Resort. I don't include the Boardwalk Inn, as the walk from there to the Skyliner station is far. Of the ones listed, the Yacht Club likely has the longest walk, whereas the Riviera has its own station which shortens the walk a bit.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: For this park, everyone gets there via bus, so there is no real best option.
BONUS TIP
Don't underestimate renting an ECV during his stay to offset all the distances. Their use is common at Walt Disney World, so you will find that the entire resort makes their use very convenient.
Have a Magical Vacation!
