Hi Kimberly!
Going to the parks is one of the best parts of a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation, but of course, you have to figure out how you will get there first! If you decide to drive your own car, you will have to choose between
Standard and Preferred Parking. Because we do not have any strollers or other bulky items to bring into the parks with us, my husband and I usually choose Standard Parking and walk or take the tram from our car to the park entrance.
Preferred Parking is the closest you can park to the Theme Park entrances in the regular lots. If you would like to take advantage of Preferred Parking, you will be close enough to easily walk to the park entrance from your car. You can often also catch the tram to and from these lots, although because they are so close, you will probably not need to do this. Just remember that the trams run based on operational need, so they may not always be running to and from the Preferred Parking lots.
The Preferred Parking lot for
Disney's Animal Kingdom is just outside of the park entrance, while the Preferred Parking lot for
Magic Kingdom Park is just outside the entrance to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Guests must park at the Transportation and Ticket Center before boarding a Ferryboat, Monorail, or (on occasion) bus, which will then transport them to the entrance of Magic Kingdom Park. Preferred Parking can definitely help you make the most out of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort because every magical minute really does count!
Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
